About Us

Eastside Toy Library is a non-profit organisation based in Christchurch, New Zealand, and run by a volunteer committee with support from our community, members, and their families. We have over 500 good quality, educational toys available for hire at a low membership cost. We aim to cater to your child(ren)'s interests and needs from birth until approximately 8 years of age!

Play is the gold standard for learning in the first 8 years of a child's life, a membership with us provides families with the tools, and toys, to help them provide varied play experiences for their child(ren). Our wide range of toys and resources are specifically selected to ensure the engagement of your child(ren) in extended periods of purposeful play.
